FreePBX 2.11 Guide: Updating and installing modules

FreePBX is very flexible and has many calling features. Most of these are deployed as modules that can be added to the system as required.

You should keep the modules on your system up-to-date for security reasons.

Updating modules

First select Module / Module Admin from the main menu

You will see a list of installed modules. Next click Check Online

It’s normally safe to click Upgrade All / Process and apply any updates (you should probably back up your system before doing this – http://sysadminman.net/blog/2013/backing-up-freepbx-5670)

Always, always make sure you have a current backup before updating. Also do not get complacent and update without advance planning. I recently had an update that broke my web GUI. it took some time to track down the rogue changes that were made to the web server conf file.

    Hi Eric

I totally agree with you. I should update the post really to point this out …

    Thanks. Matt.
