These instructions are valid for servers using the SysAdminMan template that were created after 14 March 2013.
CHANGING THE FREEPBX PASSWORD
The FreePBX admin password is changed through the FreePBX GUI under Admin/Administrators –
Please note: because security is implemented using Apache passwords (which is more secure than relying on the in-built FreePBX security) the permissions for different users to different parts of FreePBX has no effect. If you need to implement this please raise a support ticket to discuss the options.
CHANGING THE A2BILLING PASSWORD
Changing the A2Billing password can be done through the A2Billing admin GUI selecting ‘Change Password’
CHANGING THE LINUX ROOT PASSWORD
Log in as root via SSH using something like Putty.
Run the command ‘passwd’
Changing password for user root.
New UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.
