sysadminman

Asterisk 1.4

FreePBX 2.5

A2Billing 1.3.4

The sysadminman voip server template is a custom installation consisting of Asterisk, FreePBX and A2Billing. It is built on CentOS 5.2 and includes the 3 main applications people want in a VOIP server. Lighttpd is used as the web server (instead of Apache) meaning that it is very efficient as far as memory usage. FreePBX is a web based GUI for configuring Asterisk, and A2billing is a billing application for Asterisk allowing you to sell calling cards or termination. FreePBX and A2Billing have been integrated so that they work together. FreePBX and A2billing are configured for secure connections over https.

asterisk

Asterisk 1.6

CentOS 5.3

The "Asterisk only" template is a very lightweight template designed for Asterisk experts, or those who don't mind getting their hands dirty editing configuration files via ssh. There is no GUI for setting up Asterisk so only choose this option if you are comfortable configuring Asterisk manually. That said, it's a great way to learn the inner workings of Asterisk and get things working exactly the way you want. The "Asterisk only" template is the only one available on the "mini" plan that only includes 256MB of ram as there is no requirement to install Apache or MySQL on the server.
Trixbox

Asterisk 1.6

Trixbox is the most well known Asterisk distribution, which used to be called Asterisk@Home. Trixbox is a robust Asterisk distribution built on top of Apache, MySQL and PHP. The FreePBX web gui is included enabling you to configure all the features of your PBX from the comfort of your web browser. Trixbox also includes a system status screen where you can get an 'at a glance' overview of the status of your PBX. There is also a web gui for creating and managing conferences (web meetme) and Flash Operator Panel, a flash based status screen for your extensions, trunks and queues.
PBX in a Flash

Asterisk 1.4

FreePBX 2.5

PBX in a Flash is described as a "Lean, Mean Asterisk Machine" and that's because one of it's aims is to not include some of the 'extras' that are included with other distributions. It has extra security as standard such as IPTables and Fail2Ban which will block access from computers that make too many failed ssh, httpd and sip login attempts. Updates to PBX in a Flash are compiled from source and applied via ssh scripts. This can make upgrading PBX in a Flash more complicated than Elastix and Trixbox which both have a web gui for applying updates.
Elastix

Asterisk 1.4

FreePBX 2.5

A2Billing 1.3.0

Elastix aims to bundle many of the applications that you may want to install alongside your PBX. This includes a2billing (a call billing application), sugarcrm and vtigercrm, openfire and roundcube (a webmail application). Whilst installation of these applications is simplified with Elastix the applications included are not always the latest versions. If you wish to install applications alongside your PBX it may be worth talking to us to discuss your requirements first. Elastix has good documentation and there is also a great support forum where you can pick up lots of useful information. Because Elastix resource requirements can be bigger than the other distributions it is only available on the "Max" plan.

Choosing your plan

Mini

RAM : 256MB

Disk Space : 7GB

Bandwidth per month : 150GB

The mini plan is only available when ordering the "Asterisk only" template. This is because this template does not have Apache or MySQL installed and therefore has lower memory requirements. The mini template is only recommended for light Asterisk users with few then 5 extensions and needing to use less than 10 concurrent voice channels (normally 1 call will use 2 voice channels).

Standard

RAM : 384MB

Disk Space : 10GB

Bandwidth per month : 200GB

The standard plan is available for all the templates apart from Elastix. It is recommended for users with up to 10 extensions and needing to use up to 20 voice channels (normally 1 call will use 2 voice channels).

Max

RAM : 512MB

Disk Space : 15GB

Bandwidth per month : 400GB

The max plan is available with all templates, including Elastix. It is recommended for users who don't want to worry about running out of ram or going over their monthly bandwidth allocation. The max plan will handle up to 30 extensions and 30 voice channels (normally 1 call will use 2 voice channels).

Please note that all of the extension/channel numbers are estimations. Actual numbers will depend on what codec you are using and if you are doing codec translations
